Course Materials for 2011
Introduction to R/Bioconductor for Sequence Analysis
October, Seattle, USA
This course introduces participants to the use of R and Bioconductor for the analysis of high throughput sequence data. Participants are expected to have basic familiarity with R, and with relevant biological domains. Participants can expect to gain a better understanding of how R works, and of the ways in which Bioconductor represents and manipulates sequence data. Participants will gain experience in simple work flows for the analysis of common next-generation sequence experiments.
High throughput sequence analysis with R and Bioconductor
August, Warwick, UK
This tutorial introduces R users to the Bioconductor project, a collection of more than 400 packages for the analysis and comprehension of high-throughput genetic data. The tutorial highlights flexible facilities for the analysis of DNA sequence data.
BioC 2011
July, Seattle, USA
This conference highlights current developments within and beyond Bioconductor, an international open source and open development software project for the analysis and comprehension of high-throughput genomic data.
Computational Statistics for Genome Biology (CSAMA)
June, Breassanone-Brixen, Italy
This one week intensive course will give insights into recent advances in statistical and computational aspects of the design and interpretation of genome-scale experiments. The topics will include all aspects of the data analysis of high-throughput sequencing for transcriptomics (RNA-Seq) and chromatin dynamics (ChIP-Seq). The course is intended for researchers with a basic understanding of these technologies and their associated statistical and computational challenges. The four practical sessions of the course will require basic programming in the language R.
RNA-Seq and ChiP-Seq Data Analysis
June, EMBL Heidelberg, Germany
{:"The course covers data analysis of ChIP-Seq and RNA-Seq experiments"=>"Alignment, data handling and visualisation, region identification, differential expression, data quality assessment, integrative bioinformatic and statistical analysis, using R/Bioconductor as well as other open source software tools. This 2.5 day course is a mix of lectures and practical computer labs (1.5 days and 1 day, respectively). Familiarity with computer programming and the technology and biological use cases of high throughput sequencing is required, as is some experience with R/Bioconductor."}
Advanced R Programming
February, Seattle, USA
This workshop is suited for experienced R / Bioconductor users interested in developing or honing advanced R programming skills. The course emphasizes programming "best practices", and encourages participants to contribute their experience in a group learning environment.
International Workshop on Bioinformatics
January, Port of Spain, Trinidad
This 3-day course will provide an intensive introduction to bioinformatics tools used to handle and analyze Genome data. Material presented on the Bioconductor web site represents some of the material presented; see the workshop web site for additional detail.
